Speed Up Your Recovery Process With Pre-hab
According to the National Institutes of Health, participating in pre-surgical exercise treatment will improve your postoperative results and shorten your recovery time.
Both before and after surgery, pre-operative exercises are aimed to increase your range of motion and movement patterns. By raising the intensity of the activity and making pain more manageable, pre-hab helps the body prepare for surgery.
You will be able to recover to regular function much faster after surgery if you are as strong, flexible, and healthy as before surgery.
Benefits of Having Physical Therapy Before Surgery
By beginning a pre-surgical physical therapy program, you will be able to build a training routine before surgery that you may maintain throughout your recovery.
Here are some compelling reasons to seek physical therapy before surgery.
Pre-hab can help relieve your pain early
Our Oshkosh and Appleton, WI physical therapists may be able to alleviate your current pain. They may also reduce your chances of experiencing severe pain in the future. Several therapies, such as exercise, massage, or cold and heat treatments, may be utilized to help, alleviate, or eliminate your pain.
Rehabilitation before surgery improves the overall outcome of the operation
The stronger you are before the surgery, the more likely the surgery will be successful. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) states that pre-hab can improve the overall outcomes of surgery, and can even help in saving money if everything goes smoothly.
Physical therapy can decrease your risk of developing complications after surgery
PT techniques can help you increase your strength and endurance. As a result, general immunity will improve, making infection following surgery far less likely.
Pre-hab decreases recovery time
Having strong muscles before surgery helps you get back to your routine much quicker. Your recovery should be much smoother if you choose to complete a pre-hab program before your surgery.
You could avoid surgery completely
